Completes Round Two
New and returning winners highlight results over Easter weekend

| April 9, 2023 – With karting in North America now in full swing, it was time for the second round of the ROK Sonoma Presented by Titanium Sports Nutrition. Taking place over the Easter weekend, a large contingent of ROKKERs took on the karting venue at the famed Sonoma Raceway. With some drivers doubling up on their wins from round one, close finishes in VLR Junior and stacked fields in VLR Senior highlighted the weekends' competition.
“A huge thank you to everyone who came out and raced with us over the Easter weekend,” explained Steve Cameron. “We understand that karting often takes away from family time, but we were thankful to be able to spend time with our karting family.”

Junior VLR Max Altman was the fastest driver on track in the VLR Junior category, but it was Christian Cameron that got the last laugh earning the victory and solidifying his position as a championship threat. Altman used his speed to come home in the second position in the closest finish of the weekend with the top three drag racing to the line and finishing within .04 of one another. With Altman second, Nico Sarphati steered his machine to a P3 finish as Casey Moyer finished fourth putting the top four within three-tenths of one another at the checkered flag. Despite finishing fourteen seconds in arrears of the winner. Erik Doan was classified fifth.

| It was a battle up front in the 125cc Shifter LTD class as Travis Bowles was able to take the checkered flag, a scant .549 ahead of Nicholas Colyvas. It was a two-driver race as they stretched their lead to more than three seconds over the third-place runner of Andrew Wait, as Wait was able to hold off the advances of Steven Piggot and Trevor Geter. The third through fifth place drivers were separated by less than half a second at the line as two battles ensued, one for the win and one for the final step on the podium. In the Master ROK class, David Palic was the sole entrant and earned the win.

Senior VLR presented by OPI Builders
It was a twenty-one-driver-strong Senior VLR affair, but none were better than Dustin Salaverria in the end. The #983 entrant of Salaverria earned the win, despite not being the fastest kart on the track. Fast lap honors went to that of Val Garbarino who failed to finish. Anthony White was the best of the rest in the second position as he edged Yashom Kapoor by .15. Kapoor as the pair stood on the podium in second and third. It was Roman Madrigal in the fourth position as he finished just ahead of Stephen Eisert in fifth as second through fifth were separated by less than a half a second when the checkered flag flew.

| It was a popular name at the top of the results sheet in the Mini ROK category for round two as Mateo Calderon was able to find his way to the front of the field and earn the victory by just over four seconds. Piloting his #101 machine to the win, Calderon climbed to the top step of the podium flanked by Landon Cordero-Dolph in the second position and Brock Perry in third. It was Paxton Romero that missed the third and final step on the box to come home fourth, just ahead of the fifth-place finisher of Case Wan. In a combined field that saw both Micro and Mini ROKKERs, Aidan Go dominated the Micro ROK main event to score the win by nearly twenty seconds as Kylie Johnson and Piyush Iyer battled it for second and third with Johnson getting the better of Iyer.

Master VLR
It was a strong thirteen-driver Master VLR field and the fastest kart in the main event was the one that ended up at the top of the result sheets. Dan Jones scored the race win by 1.525 over Georgios Georgiou who was another 1.5 seconds ahead of Michael Ting in P3. The battle for fourth was the best on track and fourth, fifth, and sixth finished within one second of one another led by Stephan Gaudreau in P4, Fred Clark in fifth, and Scott Formanek in sixth.

| The Pro ROK Shifter and Master ROK Shifter drivers battled it out in the main event as a total of eleven gearbox drivers pushed their karts to the limits to out-duel one another. Brian Keck mastered the Pro ROK Shifter class to take the win ahead of Ethan Booher in second as the top two drivers were the class of the field. Tazio Ottis stood on the third and final step of the podium with Callum Smith in fourth and female driver Macy Williams in the fifth position. On the Master ROK Shifter side of the program, it was Thomas Parmentier that earned the victory ahead of Patrick O’Neil in second.
