ROK Sonoma Presented By Sanzaru Karting Championship Season Launches March 30-31
Senior ROK Shifter to be Race #1 Feature Race
The 2019 Sanzaru Games kart racing season is finally here with Race #1 coming March 30 & 31 at the Simraceway International Karting Track at Sonoma Raceway, Northern California's premier kart racing facility. This season starts with the addition of three new classes to the ROK series. Senior and Master 100cc and the new 125 Shifter Limited class sponsored by Radical Northwest. The feature class for Race #1 will be the Senior ROK Shifter class.
Track configuration: The track configuration will be the National layout for Race #1. This is to align the track layout of Sanzaru Race #1 with the Challenge of the Americas Series that will be at the Simraceway Track on April 5-7.
Radical NorthWest is the Feature sponsor for the new ROK 125 Shifter Limited class and will be paying for every 125 Shifter Limited race entry at all events this year! The class will run on the track with the 80 Shifters but be a separate Championship class. We believe this will offer a long-term replacement for the 80 Shifters and help attract new drivers who are not quite ready to step up to the 125 Senior or Masters classes. The class is open to drivers over 35 years old.
Also, for Race #1, the ROK VLR & IAME KA 100cc Senior and Master classes will become a race group this year providing there are three drivers per class at each race. This will be a group to watch this year as they grow with more drivers.
Fuel, Oil and Tires purchase is required for ALL classes. VP C12 Fuel - 5 gals, Motul 2t Oil, 1 liter and Bridgestone YLR tires will be a required purchase at each race for all classes except Micro, Mini & 100cc classes. Micro, Mini & 100cc are only required to purchase as needed, and the Bridgestone tires will be Stamped. Micro, Mini & 100cc tires will be checked at the scales after qualifying. If the driver in those classes is not running stamped tires, the driver will be required to change to stamped tires and start in the rear of his class.
2019 Supplemental rules are posted on the Sanzaru Karting website http://www.sanzarukarting.com/resources.html.
